About Dr. Sinha – Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Sinha specializes in hip and knee replacements and has performed thousands of such surgeries for patients in Palm Springs.
As a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Sinha continuously monitors the ever-changing technology available to knee surgeons and strives to perfect the latest advancements. For example, he was the first knee surgeon in Palm Springs and one of the first in the world to perform Makoplasty, a robotic arm assisted partial knee replacement. He also provides patients a customized approach to knee surgery using by using ConforMISTM patient-specific knee implants. By staying on the cusp of emerging technology and the latest research, Dr. Sinha is able to offer his patients world-class results.
Dr. Sinha strives to provide his patients with the exact procedure they need to regain function. He takes the time to understand each patient’s unique condition before recommending a course of action.
Dr. Sinha earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He completed his residency with the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University. He completed a surgical internship at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, Penn.
During his residency he also obtained a Ph.D. at the Thomas Jefferson University College of Graduate Studies, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
Research and Continuing Medical Education
Prior to moving to the Coachella Valley, Dr. Sinha was an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh. His duties included running a stem cell research laboratory; teaching medical students, graduate students, residents and fellows; and, patient care and surgery. Dr. Sinha is committed to helping orthopedic surgeons around the world further their education. He is a frequent guest lecturer at conferences around the world, including hosting an annual Hip and Knee Replacement Symposium in Indian Wells, CA.
Additionally, Dr. Sinha’s research has been published in a variety of leading medical journals and he has received research grants from some of the most highly regarded medical institutions in the world including:
- Clinician Scientist Grant from the National Institutes of Health (1993),
- The National Orthopaedic Surgery Fellows Foundation Research Grant (1996),
- A Zimmer Research Grant,
- The Pittsburgh Tissue Engineering Grant.
Distinctions and Recognitions
Dr. Sinha is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and serves on the board of directors for both the Foundation for the Advancement of Research in Medicine (FARM) and the International Society for Technology in Arthoplasty (ISTA).
Dr. Sinha has been honored with these awards:
